BOARD OF SELECTMEN MEETING

Tuesday, March 23, 2010

7:00 p.m.

The meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held at 7:30 pm in the Sharon Town Offices with Chairman William A. Heitin, Selectman Richard A. Powell, Selectman Walter “Joe” Roach and Town Administrator Benjamin E. Puritz

The meeting was called to order at 7:43 p.m.

There were no appointments scheduled for this evening.

1.         Sequencing of Articles for May 2010 Annual Town Meeting Warrant

VOTED:  (Heiten/Powell) Voted unanimously to accept as set forth, the Index of Articles for Town Meeting and the Special Town Meeting within the Annual Town Meeting.

2.         Signing of Warrant for 2010 Annual Town Meeting

VOTED:  (Roach/ Powell) Voted unanimously to sign the Annual Town Meeting Warrant for May 3, 2010.

3.         Award of Printing Contract and Delivery for 2009 Town Report

Per memorandum to Board of Selectmen, Roni Thaler recommended that the contract for the printing of the 2009 Annual Town Report be awarded to Overnite Printing, Foxborough, Massachusetts.  Three printers responded to the bid. The closest bid was approximately 25% higher depending on the number of pages.

Overnite Printing’s bid:

230 pages at $42.50 per page = $  9,775.00

290 pages at $41.75 per page = $12,107.50

VOTED:  (Roach/Powell) Voted unanimously to award the printing bid for the 2009 Annual Town Report to Overnite Printing as described.

VOTED:  (Roach/Powell) Voted unanimously to award the printing bid for the 2009 Annual Town Report to Boy Scout Troop #95 for $1,200.00.

4.         Appointment of Bruce Rosenbaum to the Historic Commission

VOTED: (Roach/Powell) Voted unanimously to appoint to the Historic Commission as an Alternate Member to a term expiring in 2012.

5.         New/Other Business

Selectman Powell read correspondence from the Town of Walpole inviting two representatives from the Sharon Board of Selectmen to attend a dialogue re enhancing services through a collaborative effort with neighboring communities.  The dialogue will be held in the Town of Walpole on April 8, 2010.  Selectmen Roach and Powell will be representing the Town of Sharon.

VOTED:  (Roach/Powell) Voted unanimously to enter in executive session for the purpose of discussing collective bargaining pending litigation and real property and at the end thereof to adjourn for the evening.

The Board adjourned to Executive Session at 7:50 P.M.
